Cambodia’s exports to the world’s largest economy are on the rise again, continuing a pattern of consecutive growth reflecting strong demand for the Kingdom’s products in the US.
Data from the US Census Bureau showed that Cambodia exported just over $580 million worth of goods to the US in January of 2021, up nearly 31 percent year-one-year.
Two-way trade between the nations rose by almost 5 percent (4.89) to $614 million over the measurement period, according to the US census bureau’s data.
The nation’s trade with the US is expected to continue to grow in 2021 as the availability of COVID-19 vaccines boosts economic activity, said Lim Heng, the vice-president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.
“Throughout the hard times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cambodia’s exports to the US have continued to rise, with US demand for made-in-Cambodia products still growing,” Heng said.
