Poland invests in nuclear energy, aims to cut carbon emissions

The Polish government is to invest in nuclear energy as it seeks to cut greenhouse gas emissions by some 30 percent by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.

The first block of the country’s new nuclear power plant is expected to be put into operation in 2033, with a further six blocks to come online every two to three years.
