The average number of people employed in the industrial and service sectors in Taiwan fell in 2020 for the first time in 11 years because of the economic disruption caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, Taiwan’s statistics bureau reported Friday.
An average of 7.955 million people were employed in the industrial and service sectors in 2020, down 0.15 from year earlier, according to the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS).
