Taipei, Feb. 9 (CNA) Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), the world’s largest contract chipmaker, said on Tuesday that it will establish a 3DIC material research and development center in Japan.
TSMC said the plan to establish the R&D center in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, near Tokyo, through investment of up to US$186 million in paid-in capital to set up a 100 percent owned subsidiary in Japan, was approved at a board meeting held Tuesday afternoon.
